SUPPORT

Technical Support Center
The Technical Support Center (TSC), located at 1504 Webb Center (near the Cyber Cafe), is the central point of contact to the Office of Computing and Communications Services. See also repair services provided by the Mobile Monarch program for students.

FootPrints
This is the University's web-based incident tracking system used by the OCCS Technical Support Center to track all requests for technology information, services (other than billable items such as new voice or data network services) and assistance.  By logging into FootPrints with your MiDAS account, you can submit a detailed request for information, service (less billable items) or assistance and find out the status for all of your tickets.  For instructions on how to use FootPrints please see the FootPrints how-to.

Data Backups and Data Restore
The University has standard backup practices for all systems and data that is non database related. Users should be comfortable with how the data is backed up, frequency and how to request data to be restored from the backups.  The success of the restoration process is based on the storage habits of the users and availability of the servers.

System Outages
Whenever unplanned system outages occur, information is posted as an Alert on the OCCS homepage. When the issue has been resolved, a follow-up Alert is posted. Alerts are archived weekly and retained under the Alerts Archive link for one month.

Documentation
Users who need more information on the systems and resources OCCS supports may download files for offline viewing.
