OCCS supports both the two major office suites: Microsoft Office and Corel Wordperfect Office. The current versions of these suites that are available on University systems are Microsoft Office 2010 and Corel WordPerfect Office X6. Newer versions will not be supported in the standard configurations until all testing has been completed.
With the recent signing of a Microsoft Campus agreement and the campus migrating to a Microsoft Exchange environment, the use of the Outlook 2010 client included in the Office 2010 suite will be compulsory making the Microsoft Office suite a required component for supported systems on campus. Second and subsequent Office suites can be added to fulfill job requirements.
These and other products can be purchased through the Site License Program.
OCCS support for applications purchased from the Site License Program and installed by University personnel is limited to the following:
- Network connectivity problems.
- Problems running/loading an application.
- Printing problems.
- Problems saving/retrieving files.
- Computer memory problems when running an application.
- Data conversion problems within the office suite. OCCS will investigate and recommend conversion utilities.
Problems outside of this scope will be referred back to the user for coordination with the seller or software company.
Installation and maintenance of applications not purchased through the Site License Program are the responsibility of the user; as are installation and maintenance of applications on standalone and home computers.
